In previous days we have witnessed the situation in Afghanistan where the change of regime occurred and with that attempt of mass escape of civilian population due to fear of retaliation and for their own life.

Red Cross of Montenegro  as part of Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement, is joining the statements for support to people of Afghanistan and our colleagues in Afghan Red Crescent, International Federation of Red Cross/Red Crescent societies (IFRC) and International committee of Red Cross (ICRC), that continue to provide support to affected population.

Having in mind the situation, Red Cross of Montenegro supports the initiatives to keep borders open for all people that want to leave Afghanistan and initiative to European countries to refrain from deportations of Afghan citizens, due to violation of human rights especially when it comes to women and girls.

Red Cross of Montenegro invites all relevant stakeholders to show solidarity and continue to support the protection of human rights in Montenegro but also all around Europe for all refugees and migrants.
