As part of the implementation of the project “The Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance”, the project team of the Red Cross of Montenegro conducted a survey on the capacity of communities to respond to floods.
The team conducted household surveys in Bistrica and Ponari to get more information on how these communities cope with floods, how they affect their lives and what can be done to increase their resilience to floods.
In addition to household survey, answers to these questions will be obtained through the organization of focus groups, but also through interviews with stakeholders in order to obtain data from several sources and thus ensure their relevance.
The results of the research will be the basis for implementing smaller interventions in communities that will increase their resilience to floods.
The communities, in which the project is implemented, were selected in cooperation with the Municipality of Podgorica, specifically Golubovci settlement.
The project is funded by the Zurich Foundation through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
