Organizational development
Besides affairs of public interest, Red Cross exercises some specific programmes, according to the principles and mission of the International Movement (Article 11 of the Law on Montenegro Red Cross).
 
Priority goals of the Red Cross organization, in the area of organizational development and strengthening, are mainly focused to the:
  • Conducting affairs of public interest; internal and external regulations;
  • Strengthening  of human resources (staff, governing structure, volunteers);
  • Internal and external communications;
  • Material resources, sources of financing;
  • Standardization of the programme responsibilities;
  • Improving humanitarian values;
  • Development of the partnership relations (bilateral and multilateral cooperation).
In the area of organizational development, Montenegro Red Cross, especially after renewal of the status of independent National Society, performs more significant results.
 
An Organizational development workshop was organized within Montenegro Red Cross,  after self assessment of the level or organizational development, conducted through the Analysis of the situation in the local Red Cross branches (2006/07), in 2008, with the support of International Federation of Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies – delegation in Belgrade. This workshop lasted for three days, and it was used as the platform for defining unique, priority and obligatory contents and aims for the functioning of the organization, all according to the Strategy of development of Montenegro Red Cross 2006/10.
 
Also, in cooperation and with the support of the International Federation of Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies, Montenegro Red Cross started a continuous process of training human resources in project writing and fundraising, a process that is being implemented through three stages, and right now is in its final stage.
 
Some significant results in the area of organizational development were accomplished in IT communication and Finance development.
 
Through providing additional support from the internal funds of the International Movement, Red Cross is beginning to implement Intensified Capacity Building Plan of the National Society for the period 2009-2011.
 
The content of the developmental Plan consists of the strengthening of human resources, improvement of the strategic governing and management, fundraising and improvement of the system of internal and external communication and visual identity of the National Society. These developmental processes will strengthen institutional capacity of Montenegro Red Cross for the efficient fulfillment of the Mission.
 
Montenegro Red Cross will organize ordinary elections for the governing and managing bodies for the local and national level for the period from 2010-2014.
